Everything families ask us about starting ballet, class placement, dress code, pointe readiness, adult classes, and visiting our studio in Rogers, Northwest Arkansas.
- What age can my child start ballet at Pinnacle Ballet?
- Children can begin in our Pre-Ballet 1 class at ages 4–5, which introduces classical ballet through structured movement, music, and imagination. From there, dancers progress through Pre-Ballet 2 and 3 before entering our leveled classical curriculum. No prior experience is required to start in Pre-Ballet.
- Does my child need prior experience or an evaluation to enroll?
- Our Pre-Ballet classes (ages 4–10) require no prior experience or evaluation. Placement into Level 1 and above is based on a dancer's technical readiness, strength, maturity, and prior training rather than age alone, so new students may be asked to complete a placement evaluation before enrolling.
- How is my dancer placed into the right level?
- Because Pinnacle Ballet follows a progressive classical training structure, level placement is determined by readiness — technique, strength, focus, and prior training — not by age. New students entering the leveled track complete an intake assessment so we can place them where they will grow best. Intake assessments are by appointment only.
- What should my dancer wear to class or an evaluation?
- For Pre-Ballet, dancers wear a pink leotard, tights, and ballet slippers with hair secured neatly away from the face. For Level 1 and above, the studio dress code is a leotard, tights, and ballet slippers with hair in a secured ballet bun. Pointe shoes are introduced only when a dancer is individually assessed as ready.
- When will my child start pointe work?
- Pointe readiness is assessed individually rather than by age or level alone. It typically begins to be evaluated around Level 3, and depends on a dancer's strength, alignment, technique, and physical development. Our instructors assess each dancer carefully to ensure pointe work is introduced safely.
- What is the difference between recreational and pre-professional ballet?
- Pinnacle Ballet follows a progressive, Vaganova-informed classical curriculum designed to build serious technique over time. Early levels establish a joyful foundation, while our advanced levels (Level 4 and the invitation-only Level 5) provide pre-professional training with technical mastery, artistry, performance preparation, and individualized coaching.
- Do you offer ballet classes for adults?
- Yes. Our Adult Ballet class is designed for adults with previous ballet training who want to reconnect with classical technique. It follows a traditional open-class format with barre, center, adagio, turns, and allegro. Adults with some background who are unsure about placement are welcome to contact us for guidance.
- What other programs do you offer besides leveled ballet?
- In addition to our leveled classical ballet track, Pinnacle Ballet offers Pilates, private training, and seasonal summer intensives. Private lessons and intake assessments are scheduled by appointment only.
- Where is Pinnacle Ballet located and what are your hours?
- Pinnacle Ballet is located at 5208 Village Pkwy Suite 5, Rogers, AR 72758, serving Northwest Arkansas. Studio hours are Monday–Friday 10:00 AM–8:30 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM–1:00 PM; we are closed Sunday. Private lessons and intake assessments are by appointment only. - How do I enroll or schedule an evaluation?
- You can begin enrollment or request a placement evaluation directly through our website's enrollment page, or contact the studio by phone or email. For dancers entering the leveled track, we'll arrange an intake assessment by appointment to determine the best placement.
